Dr. Richard Liu Former Engineering Director, Google Co-founder/CEO, LeapMind, Partner, TEEC Angel Fund
Dr. Richard Liu is a technology executive, entrepreneur and investor. He was an Engineering Director in Google before he started his own company LeapMind earlier this year. In the seven years in Google, he was a key leader in a wide range of product areas from Google Enterprise Search, Google Shopping, Google Offers to Project Fi. He has exercised strong influence over a rich set of products loved by the users from Google Express, Trusted Stores, to Project Fi. In LeapMind, he is building a Professional Development Platform to help students and young professionals’ career planning and development. Prior to Google, Richard held technical leadership role in Oracle Retail, Target, Verizon and IBM China. Dr. Liu is also a partner at TEEC Angel Fund, which invested in over 130 startups. Dr. Liu obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Florida and MBA from Southern Methodist University. He earned his master’s degree from Tsinghua University, Beijing and bachelor’s degree from Sichuan University, Chengdu.
Dr. Jun Deng Investment Manager, TEEC Angel Fund
Dr. Jun Deng is the Investment Manager at Tsinghua Entrepreneur and Executive Club (TEEC) Angel Fund, a Venture Capital Fund located on the peninsula in the Bay Area. TAF invests in and advises early stage companies with a diverse and successful combination of portfolio companies. At TAF, Jun is involved in deal sourcing, portfolio support, team building and fundraising. Prior to TEEC Angel Fund, she co-founded LEAP Career Development Forum in Southern California, aiming to build a trustworthy and sustained platform for STEM young professionals. She received her Ph.D. from UCLA and B.S. from Nankai University.
Mr. Lisheng Wang Co-founder, Propel(x)Founder/Director, MIT Alumni Angels
Lisheng founded the MIT Alumni Angels Group where he currently sits on the deal screening committee. He’s also the co-founder of Propel(x), a leading online platform focusing on deep technology investment opportunities. He has driven investment syndicates in more than 30 leading edge technology startups . Previously Lisheng spent 15 years in financial services and software industry. His experience included portfolio risk management at Wells Fargo, corporate strategy at KeyBank, consulting at The World Bank and software engineering at Microsoft. Lisheng has an M.S. from MIT and a B.S. from Fudan University.
